Globally, GB-TAF is one of the most important single sources of systematics information. The total of more than 80 million specimens including 1.5 million holotypes and paratypes housed in the three institutions are the cumulative efforts of nearly 300 years of collecting and research.
The research community at GB-TAF is highly productive. Over 1200 peer-reviewed papers were generated in 2006/2007. A summary of outputs to December 2008 from SYNTHESYS FPVI Users can be found here.
