SYNTHESYS+ funds a world-class 'Transnational Access' (TA) programme, which provides funds to researchers from all over the world. Funding allows researchers to complete short research visits at our world-class science institutions.
The spread of COVID-19 'Coronavirus' across the globe has caused museum closures and the need to self-isolate. We recognise that at this time, many researchers do not feel comfortable committing to any future travel plans.
We still encourage you to apply to the programme. The visit window for successful SYNTHESYS+ TA applications will be July 2020 - June 2021. Although we anticipate that international travel in Summer 2020 will not be possible, we are hoping to fund visits that take place in Winter 2020 or Spring 2021. We will work with you to schedule a visit only when global and local health and travel guidance informs us that it is safe and responsible to do so.
The new deadline for applications is Friday 3 April, 2020. You still have time to apply.
If successful, you will be able to visit a natural science collection that meets your research interests, when museum collections re-open. Many natural science researchers now find themselves needing to work from home and unable to work alongside museum collections. Consider applying for a SYNTHESYS+ grant.
You can begin your application and find out more about the Transnational Access programme here.
